This position requires a motivated person to aid in the development of new products.


• Recent Graduate with Bachelors in Engineering or Physics.
• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or similar field with 2-5 years of related experience.


• Draft mechanical and optical drawings.
• Basic PCB layout
• Generate Gcode, setup parts, and run CNC and 3D printers for prototyping and production.
• Troubleshoot and operate Hyper Spectral Reflectance and Raman Imagers.
• Assess instrument performance and use data analysis to provide feedback to research and engineering teams for continuing product improvement
• Optimization of alignment techniques for transfer to manufacturing


• Use of standard assembly tools
• Basic machine shop skills (Lathe, Mill, CNC, etc)
• Understanding of Windows Operating System
• Multitasking between several projects
• Knowledge of mechanical drafting standards
• Proficiency in Solidworks
• Proficient in electronics and PCB debugging (DMM & soldering).
• Use of Unix based operating system (Terminal, VI, etc)
• Working knowledge of optics and optical systems
• Working knowledge spectroscopy
• Working knowledge of hyperspectral imaging

Applications Scientist / Applications Engineer

This position will require overlap between the research / engineering and sales organizations as new products are developed and deployed.


• Bachelors degree in Chemistry or similar field with 5-10 years of related experience.
• Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Spectroscopy, Chemometrics, with 2-5 years of experience


• Maintain applications lab space and customer samples
• Evaluation of instrument performance against specifications
• Development of models/algorithms for automated detection and quantification of substances in hyperspectral chemical images using Raman or reflectance modalities
• Assess instrument performance and use data analysis to provide feedback to research and engineering teams for continuing product improvement
• Test customer samples with existing equipment and provide comprehensive analysis and create presentations for the sales team and customer interactions
• Generate application notes describing how the technology can be used to further particular applications of interest for sales and marketing purposes


• Deep understanding of spectroscopy, chemometrics and data analytics
• Sample preparation to assess identification & quantification of limits of detection (LOD)
• Highly proficient in data analysis via programming in Python, Matlab, C, etc.
• Highly proficient in data analysis using software packages – Eigenvector, etc.
• Proficient in using computer systems and the related software applications

• Working knowledge of Raman Spectroscopy and applications
• Working knowledge of hyperspectral imaging
• Capable of summarizing to management & customers experimental results
• Independent, self-starter with minimal guidance required
• Multitasking between several projects
• Prior startup company experience
